Whether you've been in California before or whether this is your first trip, visiting this great state will surely be a treat. California is such a diverse place that, to see it all, your best bet is to get in your car and start driving. However, if you don't drive, consider starting your trip at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) where you can use the car services that are available there. While many people use LAX car service for business purposes, there certainly is not a limitation to where your driver can take you.

Arrival - Of course, if you already live in California you've already got a head start. However, if you're flying in from another state, a great place to start your California trip is in Los Angeles. The reason that's a good thing is that you can fly right into LAX where the car service is readily available. LAX is one of the busiest airports in the world, so you'll want to make your car service reservations even before you arrive. If you've forgotten something, LAX has plenty of shops where you can get books, toiletries and other necessities.

Lodging - Think about getting a hotel that is close to the Los Angeles International Airport. There are so many hotels in that vicinity that you you're sure to find hotels in your price range. No matter at what time you arrive in Los Angeles, you'll probably be anxious to get started with sight seeing. However, consider taking a rest at your hotel so you'll be energized enough for the busy day ahead. Besides visiting famous places like Hollywood and Grauman's Chinese Theater, consider asking your chauffeur to drive you through the amazing residential areas that will take your breath away.

Choices - Right at the Los Angeles International Airport, you'll find information booths with friendly and courteous people who will help you decide where you want to travel in California. They'll probably provide you with pamphlets and maybe even coupons that will save you money at some of the tourist attractions. Here are some other places you won't want to miss.

  • San Diego, with side trips to the beach and to La Jolla and Coronado Island -  Don't forget the San Diego Zoo.
  • Anaheim where you can visit Disneyland - This theme park is fun, even if you don't have children with you.
  • The seventeen-mile drive with destinations of Carmel, Monterey and San Francisco - You'll want your camera.
  •  The picturesque town of San Simeon - Plan on a long time at Hearst Castle.
  • The Redwood Forest - This would be a great place to have a picnic, which the car service will be happy to arrange for you.

Your car service will charge you according to the time and miles accrued on your trips. It is also good to tip your chauffeur 10 to 15% of the total charges.

At the end of your California trip, the chauffeur will drive you right back to the Los Angeles International Airport. Before you head home, think about spending enough time at LAX where you can have a meal and even buy souveniers in some pretty special gift shops.
